A line form Lars Von Trier's 1991 movie, Europa (Zentropa).
Katharina Hartmann (a character played by Barbara Sukowa) admits at on point to Leopold Kessler (Jean-Marc Barr): "Ich bin Werwolf" (I am werewolf). Werewolves were Nazi partisans who tried to obstruct the American invasion of Germany immediately after the II WW.
It is a very slippery and tricky question of patriotism. Katharina was not a Nazi, she just wanted to defy her father.
I find this movie extremely interesting in terms of one country's meddling with the affairs of another. (Can we really understand what are the real troubles of other people?)
On the intimate scale (a clueless and pragmatic American guy falls in love with a bitter and proud German girl) I used another dialogue from this movie in a graphic work Zentropa Balkan.
